"It is much more important to know what sort of patient has a disease than what sort of disease a patient has."

What a wonderful quote. Too often we ignore the human element, not just in medicine, but in the everyday situations that we face. People have deep, deep lives, and whatever happens behind the facade impacts them greatly. We must remember to look beyond the surface and see what's happening within.

Truly no surprise this manifests in the medical field as well.

That's a great point James. It is certainly not isolated to the medical field. I believe that contributes to the mental health crisis that we are seeing. It has to start with awareness. Hard to change something if you're not aware of it.

Thank you for sharing this. I agree -

feeling we are so stuck in the texts and guidelines and catching the snapshot of the person instead of trying to see the big picture. Really good read!

I just ordered your book. I'm so happy to find you here. It's wonderful to be reconnected!

I've been trying to lift myself out of a hole of fear that invaded me first with covid and so much loss in 6 friends who died from it to losing half my business from clients refusing to mask in my tiny space, to my husband who is my best friend and love of my life having a stroke, and gratefully recovered, to losing 3 precious pets in one year and top it all off with political fear... I'm so grateful for spring and immersing my whole being into gardening, nature, mindfulness and contemplative prayer.

I'm so looking forward to walking beside you and your subscribers on a wellness path of gratitude in these tumultuous times we find ourselves in. This is such a healing read! Thank you.
